Ovation and Applause mainly concentrate on acoustic-electric guitars, but also have some very interesting and strong options in the bass section. AE140 is one of them and it comes from Applause`s AE series. It features a standard single cutaway body construction with back and sides being made of composite materials and combined with a spruce top. The top is bound in cocobolo binding and finished in high gloss. The bridge on this model is made of rosewood and it sports a classic belly shape. Electronics on this model consist of an under-saddle piezo and a side-mounted preamp with tuner. The neck on this model is made of maple and it features a standard contour. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with 21 frets covered with dot position inlays.
